Slate Plant Markers

Slate plant marker on its stand in the garden

Christy from the Fair Oaks Community Garden found these blank slate plant markers you can write on with a paint pen. I thought they were pretty cool — especially if you know someone with good handwriting, like Christy. She made a batch for our herb garden section at the community garden.

Where to get them

You can find slate plant markers at everlastlabel.com. They're sold in packs of 30 that include the slate and the stand.

What to write on them with

You'll need paint pens — about $4 to $6 at most craft stores. Elmer's and Deco Color brands both work well.

Installing them on the stand

Once you've written on the slate, just slide it onto the stand from the bottom.
