Garlic Bread on the Blackstone griddle

Wanting to heat up some garlic bread, but I didn't want to fire up the indoor oven...

I needed to heat up / bake off some garlic bread to go along with a spaghetti dinner.   I thought since the new Blackstone 22 inch griddle I bought came with a cover, it might work well to heat up the garlic bread.

I didn’t want to put too much heat on the bottom of the bread so I used the rack to create a stand off.  Then I closed the cover with the griddle on low, to create an oven.

A lot of the melted butter ran off on to the griddle, so next time I may place a layer of foil to catch some of it. The foil would also help to deflect some of the radiant heat from the griddle top and allow me to bake the bread longer I think.  Lowering the cover on the 22″ blackstone worked pretty well to heat the bread up and melt the butter.  

Using the stand-off rack worked really well, but I was in a hurry to try and brown up the top.  To aid in the browning I decided to just remove the rack and flip the bread upside down on the griddle and brown it up.

This worked ok, but since the bread was cut unevenly, the toasting of the top was uneven as well.

Would I do this again?

Yes I would, but I would let it sit longer on the rack before I flipped it over to brown the top.

I also think this would work well for a pizza, using the rack or just placing a pizza stone directly on the griddle.

The 22″ blackstone griddle I bought has a fold down lid, that is one of the reasons I bought it.
