How to increase PHP Memory on WordPress sites hosted on Amazon LightSail

I love the speed of hosting my websites on Amazon LightSail. But I pulled my hair out trying to figure out just how to go in and increase the php memory available to WordPress. Normally on a shared hosting account you just go in and edit the php.ini but with amazon lightSail running on Bitnami it is not that easy. This is how I managed to change the php memory for WP. I strongly suggest you create a snapshot before you mess with any settings, and make changes at your own risk
